This pretentious diatribe

August 6, 2010Entry Four

I am going to try to write this blog without too much bitching. I had started it recently, but was distracted and decided that the amount of complaining was far too much. Also, my self importance was shooting through the roof so I thought I would tone that down a little bit and just talk about the relevant stuff.

I have been helping my mom move for the past three months. I have been alternating this with trying to find a mundane job to support my writing habit. I unfortunately have not sold a lot of copies of 'A Warrior's Destiny: Red' but that doesn't weigh as heavy on me as I originally thought it would. I have also had to put 'Erosis Rose' on the back burner for the moment as I help move things from the house in SE Ohio to the one up here in NE Ohio. It's going to be a crowded situation for sure... my eldest sister is housing herself, my brother and his son and my youngest older sister is housing herself, her two children, my mom, my eldest niece and myself. Full house is saying it lightly.

I don't mind my family for the most part, but I have to admit, I am sometimes uncomfortable around them. I'm not really sure why honestly and I feel bad about it at times. It doesn't feel like something I can change either which is a little frustrating.

Everything is finished moving, so I am more able to work on articles and writing in general. I'm going to need to do more focusing on these articles because I'm apparently unhireable. *sigh* But I said I wouldn't bitch so...

Have I told you about reviews of my book?
Here is one.
Here is another.

If you want a free copy I would love if you'd write a review for the book and post it somewhere online in return. The more press I get the more people will be able to find my work and the more smiles I'll get. :)

If you don't feel like making a website review, you can always post it on the same page as the second link leads to. It would get it online and get me more press. Also, if you have Digg or some other linking website in your repertoire don't hesitate to link to my book. *laughs* The self marketing machine is rolling again.

I'm going to try to have Erosis Rose edited and released for public consumption soon, going to try by the end of August, but I can't make any promises.

Also, people in NE Ohio can come hear me read poetry at various shops in my area, email me (azriel_johnson@yahoo.com) for more information concerning those things. I tried to read a couple Wednesdays ago at The Enclave, but I was the last on and hardly anyone was left there so my only clapper was my niece. Yay for that!

For a quick update this is all. I will try to make a more substantial one at a later date. Probably in a few minutes.

I love you all,
Az
